Editorial Policy

How content on Trauma Support for Schools is researched, written, reviewed, and corrected.

Sources

Content is based on publicly available material from research and practice organisations with a track record in child trauma and education, including the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, SAMHSA, the CDC, and professional associations for school counsellors, psychologists, and educators. Each guide lists its sources. Statistics are used only when they can be traced to a specific publication; where the evidence is contested or thin, the text says so.

Review

Guides are checked before publication for factual accuracy, for consistency with their cited sources, and for the boundary between education and treatment: this site explains concepts and strategies for educators, and does not publish clinical protocols or advice for individual children.

Historical material

Pages about the site's earlier history (the summit archive and the collaborative history page) are compiled from the original initiative's published materials and contemporaneous coverage. They are labelled as historical records, are not presented as current activity, and are corrected when errors are reported.

Links

Outbound links are editorial: they point to resources the editors judge useful for the reader on that page. This site does not sell links, does not accept payment for placement, and does not participate in link exchanges.

Corrections

Errors are corrected in place, and substantive corrections are noted on the page. To report an error, contact us via the About page.

Advertising and funding

The site is funded by its owners. It carries no advertising at launch and collects no reader data beyond the analytics and email subscriptions described in the privacy policy.
